Venue Manager

Position Summary

The Venue Manager is key to driving venue growth, expanding brand recognition in key areas, and helping Starshine clients achieve their ideal special event. This role is essential in building positive relationships with both new and existing Starshine clients and drive guest satisfaction.


Candidate should be positive and calm under pressure, with excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. A service focused personality is essential. This position is the first contact in the coordination of tours, private events, and weddings. Additionally, they assist in coordinating social media and marketing efforts. This position will collaborate with the Starshine Properties staff, and partner closely with the Business Development Manager to reach these goals.

Job Responsibilities

Event and Wedding Coordination (85%)

  • Responsible for communication with bridal & event clients, from initial introduction through the day of the event.

  • Stay up to date with all subsequent client emails, phone calls, and follow-up meetings. Conduct venue site visits when needed.

  • Must be able to actively listen and interpret event, catering, and bar service questions and requests.

  • Create wedding and event timelines and set-up diagrams

  • Communicate and coordinate efficiently and professionally with all caterers and vendors prior to and on the day of the event

  • Direct and execute all on-site set-up with Starshine staff.

  • Coordinate with security and linen services

  • Management of event staff and day-of timelines.

  • Responsible for all event day of contact, timing, client requests, and vendor needs.

  • Work as weekend tour manager on a rotating basis to cover public tours and occasional open houses.

  • Work directly with our Starshine Properties staff to ensure cleanliness and “show readiness” of property grounds and venue.

  • Manage vacation rental when applicable

  • Other duties dependent on the needs of the venue and event at that time

Marketing (15%)

  • Develop social media strategies and content (photo, video, graphics) for social media

  • Publish and share engaging content on select social media platforms

  • Stay up to date on social media trends and audience preferences

  • Community engagement with followers

  • Send out regular email marketing campaigns to engage our followers and gain new customers

Experience and Skills

  • Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience desired

  • Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders

  • Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong networking skills

  • Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance

  • High ability to adapt and overcome obstacles

  • High level of ownership of responsibilities

Job Requirements

  • Experience in event and wedding industry. Management experience is a plus. 1+ Years of experience in wedding planning/coordination required

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 1+ years’ experience in social media and email marketing preferred

  • Experience working in a startup company or small company environment

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work as an individual and as part of a team

  • Go getter mindset with desire to make a difference

  • Ability to work nights and weekends on an as needed basis

  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift 30 lbs frequently
